Our History

Between 1968 and 1983, Serge de Beaurecueil, a French Dominican priest pursued his thesis on the mysticism of Islam at the University of Kabul. Deeply moved by deprived children, either working on the street, orphans, or terminally illed, he welcomed, educated and took care of around 50 children living off the street into his house. Ehsan Mehrangais was one of them.
However, when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in 1979, they accused him of being a spy. Consequently, the lives of the children under his care were in danger prompting Serge to leave the country. He later got the opportunity to bring his “son” Ehsan to France.
In 2001 after the 9/11 attacks, Ehsan decided to give life back to the mission Serge had started in the past. This leads to the founding of Afghanistan Demain.
